Eric Johnson played the House of Blues on September 30, 1997 and I was fortunate enough to have attended the show. The House of Blues is a great place to see a show (except for a problem I will cover later!!) Eric Johnson who normally has very little stage presence was a monster this night. He was all over the stage, interacting with the crowd and put on one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. I guess the recent G-3 tour was good for him. I could see where he had picked up technique from Satriani and Vai (Not that he hasn't enough of his own...geesh!!!) I found the "new" Eric Johnson to be fabulous, and the sound at the House of Blues was perfect. These pictures were taken very early in the show as I ( and another guy taking pictures) was grabbed by security and escorted out of the building and my camera was taken from me. The draconion actions by the House of Blues really ticked me off. They get a 9.5 for sound, 6 for food, and 0 for the opportunity to get decent photographs. [scroll down for more photographs]
