Gary Hoey at the Tsumani Beach Club
, Orlando, Florida (26 March 97)

Gary Hoey
Gary Hoey first came to national exposure with his
rendition of Hocus Pocus (formerly done by Focus with
mucho yodeling) which I first thought was being done
Eddie Van Halen. He recently came through Orlando Florida
again and played the Tsumani Club in Lake Mary, where he
literally brought the roof down. (a section of the
ceiling came down during the middle of his show!!) A
small but appreceiative crowd got an excellent show.
Gary has been busy producing records lately. He just
produced (and played along with, according to Gary after
the show) Dick Dale on Misirlou
97, a remake of the classic tune heard most
recently on the soundtrack to Pulp Fiction. He recently
gave a guitar clinic at Mars Music
here in Orlando Florida and I have some photos on the
next page.
Gary has released six solo CD's. Of the CD's shown I
prefer Animal Instict the Best as it is the most diverse
with a broad range of styles.
