Blast From The Past

[left] The Nomads - This is a surf band that I was in during the mid 60's. This photo was taken in 1965 with me on the left, Joe on drums and Doug on rhythm guitar. We were playing for a dance at the high school gym. High class gig I know but ya gotta play where you can. I owned both guitars shown here. Either one would be worth some decent money if I still had them.
A shot of me with an Epiphone Casino taken some time around 1966. This guitar would be worth way more than what I paid for it due to the popularity of brit-pop today. It was a great guitar with a killer neck and really good sound. Unfortunately it suffered a cracked neck due to an idiot baggage handler who threw the guitar about 20 feet from a truck onto the conveyer loading the luggage onto the airplane. this occurred while I was watching from inside the plane. Sometimes you just can't win. Now I ALWAYS hand carry my guitars while on planes.
This is a publicity shot of The Untamed one of the last band I was in prior to being drafted. I played bass (notice the 57 Fender precision bass that I have on the right hand side of the photo). Again this guitar would be worth a ton of money if I still had it today. (this is starting to sound familier) I paid $100 for the bass in 1965, played out every weekend for 3 and a half years with it and sold it for $100 when I got drafted. It was a great guitar.
Here is a shot of The Untamed playing at The Hodge House, a bar in New York around 1967. I think we were doing some sort of Who song here as John (guitar on left) is playing my Vox 12 string guitar.(worst guitar I ever bought) Frank (guitar middle) is playing my Epiphone cause his was either stolen or in a pawn shop at the time. All the guitars except for the Epiphone were sold when I was drafted.
Another shot of me playing bass with The Untamed at The Hodge House, and another publicity shot taken at a graveyard on the right. I know the glasses weren't really cool but it did help me to see.
My bass rig shown at left, 57 Fender precision bass with two Fender Bassman amps. We used one amp for a PA and I used the other one with two bottoms for my bass rig.
